Uses of Emotional Intelligence Test
from:No one knows you better than yourself. And this must be justified.
Knowing oneself is the ideal case for us yet only a few have ever achieved this specific state. Many may claim that they are fully aware of the emotions underlying their personalities or the triggering instances that would help these emotions rise. Many may pretend that they understand themselves fully and that they have the proper concepts of themselves. Some may even go further as to claiming that they discern the reality of their lives. These may be true. The sad truth though is that achieving that ideal state takes deep realization and acceptance of things.
We, men, have the tendency to blind ourselves of our flaws. We are too myopic to see our imperfections. We say that we love everything that we are and have accepted ourselves fully. But once we are confronted with situations that will open our eyes to the truths, that would only be the time when we begin to see the realities.
An emotional intelligence test will work like an eye opener to us. This will help us appreciate our flaws and our imperfections. If somebody comes to you now and say that you lack emotional intelligence, would you even listen to him?
There are reasons why you would not. One, it may be that you're all too convinced that you lack nothing. Or two, you just don't have enough trust on the person. There may be other reasons but central to them is your non-acceptance of the realities.
If you would not bargain with what a fellow may tell you, then you can atleast consider the facts that an emotional intelligence test may reveal.
Everyone wants to be perfect. The more we drive ourselves to perfection, the more we get frustrated. This can be achieved yet the stakes of achieving it are too low.
There are no perfect emotions and there are no perfect reactions to specific stimuli. It's just that we develop certain emotions only according to the conditions by which we are or were subjected to. Your emotional intelligence is only the product of your reactions.
Thus, if you reacted negatively on a specific condition, it is but likely that you have developed a portion of your emotional intelligence based on that negative reaction. If so, then you might have flaws in you. The problem is, we rarely recognize our flaws unless we are exposed to conditions that would provide the means to make us face our blemishes. And that exactly is the reason why an emotional intelligence is used- to help us know about ourselves more.
Being a crucial part of our individuality, people are becoming aware of developing their emotional intelligence so as to create fuller lives. Emotional intelligence tests are now being integrated with the four walls of classrooms to help educators determine the potentials and true characteristics of the individuals they are dealing with.
Emotional intelligence test is now also being administered at any institutions imaginable so as to avoid failures in knowing a person more.
Becoming fully aware of our emotional intelligence and the facets that encircle our personalities will help enrich our knowledge of ourselves. Thus, we will be helped in creating better persons from the person we are now. In the end, our claim of knowing ourselves will no longer be a veil that we use to hide our imperfections but a mirror that will reflect the self that lies within.
