For long, people believed that the only true determinant to a person's achievements is his intellect. This is measured through Intellectual Quotient or what we simply call as IQ. We don't know exactly why people readily embraced emotional intelligence as fact. This does not negate though that many disagreed with Daniel Goleman and saw enough evidence as to why emotional intelligence must not be recognized as a part of intelligence.
